Hughes Tiling was built the traditional way — on the tools, on site, one recommendation at a time. We’re a family-run company from Bedfordshire with decades of tiling experience behind the name, and we’ve been trading as Hughes Tiling Ltd since 2015.

Yes — new build plot tiling for house builders and developers is the core of our business, alongside commercial tiling packages for main contractors. We’re set up for tenders, phased developments and repeat contract work rather than one-off domestic jobs.
How do we invite you to tender?

How many plots or sites can you handle at once?
We resource labour to your plot release schedule and regularly run more than one site concurrently. As a family business we only take on what we can inspect ourselves — which is exactly why the standard doesn’t slip when volume goes up.
What insurance and H&S documentation do you provide?
Public liability and employers’ liability certificates, site-specific RAMS, and CSCS cards for every operative — supplied with our tender return or before pre-start, whichever your process needs. We also hold SMAS and CQMS accreditation, and cover levels can be confirmed against your PQQ requirements.
Will we get the same tilers throughout the development?
That’s the plan on every site. Consistent gangs are how you get plot 90 finished to the same standard as plot 1, and it’s one of the main reasons builders bring us back for the next phase.
Do you work around other trades and plot release dates?
Always. We sequence with plumbers, kitchen fitters and decorators, work to your build programme rather than our own diary, and flag anything that threatens a handover date early — not the week it’s due.

Can you do snagging or remedial tiling on plots you didn’t tile?
Yes. We take on snagging and remedial packages, including rescuing sites where a previous tiler has let a builder down mid-development.
